Simple Mortgage Planning is published by DixonAppStudio LLC, a small independent software studio in Elgin, South Carolina, that builds free calculators, tools and apps.
The site offers eight free calculators — mortgage payment, how much house you can afford, rent vs buy, discount points, a printable amortization schedule, extra payments and early payoff, PMI removal and refinance break-even — plus plain-English guides. All calculators share one amortization engine that is covered by automated tests against published payment tables. Each page explains the formula it uses, lists its assumptions and links to official sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the IRS.
What we are not
We are not a lender, mortgage broker or financial adviser, and we do not sell or receive leads for loans. The results are estimates for planning and education. Your lender's Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure are the documents that govern your actual loan.
